The amazing Bale mountains national park is located in southeast side Ethiopia(Oromo) region, and it is one of the protected area which is approximately 2200 km2 and it is located 400 km southeast of the capital (Addis abeba) and it covers the largest area higher then 3000 meter above sea level in Africa.

The highest pick is called Tillu Dimtu which is 4377 masl and the lowest place in Bale is Harana, which is 700masl. The park includes afro alpine plateau over 3500 meter masl which is the largest area of afro alpine Habitats like Ethiopian wolves and it habitat giant mol rat.

As well as the major moist tropical forest, like harna forest. Bale is the best place for horse ridding and birding.  Afrer 6-8hrs  Drive from Addis Abeba to the National headquarter Densho take your time to Enjoy by the compound. The trek is from one day trip to 11 days.

The Sof Omar Cave

It is found 100 km away from Bale Mountain. Sof Omar is one of the most spectacular and extensive underground cave systems in the world. Formed by the Wabi River as it changed its course in the distant past and carved out a new channel through limestone foothills, the Sof Omar systems is an extraordinary natural phenomenon of breathtaking beauty.

The cave which is now an important Islamic Shrine was named after the saintly Sheikh Sof Omar who took refuge here many centuries ago. The cave has a religious history that predates the arrival of the Muslims in Bale – a history calculated in thousands of years.
